Beyond Surgery: Expanding the Role of Prostatic Arterial Embolisation in Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia
This narrative review outlines the clinical burden and management of BPH, highlighting evidence from two international trials and a South African study supporting the short- and long-term efficacy of PAE.

In 2019, SIRS published a consensus statement in which it recommended PAE as a valuable minimally invasive option for patients with lower Urinary Tract Symptoms atributed to Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia, who cannot tolerate or who have failed medical therapy, and those who are poor surgical candidates or refuse invasive surgery.

Bilateral varicocele embolisation
