Association Between Retinal Layer Thickness and Cognitive Decline in Older Adults

11 June 2022 | Clinical Trial Summary

The link between retinal layer thickness and cognitive decline in adults with pre-existing diagnoses of Alzheimer's disease and mild cognitive decline had been established in several trials. Whether there was a link between retinal layer thickness and cognitive decline in healthy older adults had not been investigated in as much depth.

The researchers of this new clinical trial, published in JAMA Ophthalmology on the 26th of May 2022, set out to investigate further.
