9 June 2022 | Clinical Research Summary
Lewy body dementia is thought to account for 5-10% of all dementias. Despite this, limited research exists regarding the difference between early-onset dementia with Lewy bodies, late-onset dementia with Lewy bodies, or between the latter two and early-onset Alzheimers. Consequently, early-onset dementia is frequently misdiagnosed.
In this retrospective case-control study, the researchers set out to determine whether it was possible to differentiate in terms of clinical presentation between the three, to better improve diagnosis.
