Dr Marisa Beretta, Paediatric Hepatologist at Wits University’s Donald Gordon Medical Centre, takes us inside the complex world of paediatric liver transplantation. From the systemic scarcity of suitable donors to the often invisible barriers in referral and access, she unpacks the myths and realities shaping care for one of the most vulnerable patient groups.
