Welcome to What’s New in Thyroid Medicine – A Review of Current Research, a focused series exploring the latest developments in thyroid health and disease.
This series highlights key shifts in clinical practice arising from the latest American Thyroid Association guidelines, from redefining thyroid function in older adults and updated pregnancy recommendations to the emerging roles of cholesterol and smoking in thyroid eye disease.
We also examine long-term risks faced by thyroid cancer survivors and the potential underdiagnosis of central hypothyroidism in children following traumatic brain injury.
This CPD activity comprises five concise articles. To ensure a comprehensive understanding and to meet accreditation requirements, you must read all five articles before completing the CPD questionnaire at the end.?

This activity review is accredited for 2 Level 1 Clinical points. To receive your accreditation points, you must complete both the five review articles and the associated questionnaire.

On completion of both activities, HPCSA-registered healthcare professionals will receive 1 Level 1 CPD points.
The Medical Education Network will submit a record of your completed activities to the HPCSA at the end of each month. You will receive a notification email from us informing you that this has been done.
