About This Webinar

In partnership with Boston Scientific, the Medical Education Network presents a focused look at how Interventional Radiology is redefining men's health. Join Dr Gareth Bydawell and Dr Dale Creamer for this one-hour, on-demand webinar as they explore how minimally invasive, image-guided therapies are improving outcomes, resulting in faster recovery, fewer complications, and greater patient satisfaction.

The session covers urological interventions including Prostatic Artery Embolisation (PAE) for BPH and varicocele embolisation, sexual health topics including vascular causes of erectile dysfunction, and clinical practice considerations for building effective referral pathways and accessing local IR services in South Africa.

Learning Objectives

  • Understand the pathophysiology of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) and the evidence base for Prostatic Artery Embolisation (PAE) compared to TURP, including outcomes and real-world case insights.
  • Review IR embolisation for varicocele versus surgical approaches, including recurrence rates and fertility outcomes.
  • Examine vascular causes of erectile dysfunction, revascularisation options, and the emerging evidence for IR intervention in sexual health.
  • Identify how to access local IR services in South Africa and build effective multidisciplinary referral pathways.
  • Stay current with emerging IR therapies in men's health and understand how to counsel patients on minimally invasive options.
