Join Dr Gareth Bydawell and Dr Dale Creamer for this one-hour, on-demand webinar as they explore how minimally invasive, image-guided therapies are improving outcomes, resulting in faster recovery, fewer complications, and greater patient satisfaction.
The session covers urological interventions including Prostatic Artery Embolisation (PAE) for BPH and varicocele embolisation, sexual health topics including vascular causes of erectile dysfunction, and clinical practice considerations for building effective referral pathways and accessing local IR services in South Africa.

- Understand the pathophysiology of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) and the evidence base for Prostatic Artery Embolisation (PAE) compared to TURP, including outcomes and real-world case insights.

- Examine vascular causes of erectile dysfunction, revascularisation options, and the emerging evidence for IR intervention in sexual health.

Who Should Attend
Dr Gareth Bydawell completed his medical degree at the University of Cape Town in 1998. He specialised in Radiology at St George's Hospital, London in 2008, and completed an Interventional Radiology Fellowship there in 2009. He passed the EBIR board exam in 2014. Dr Bydawell is the chairperson of the RSSA SAINTS subgroup (South African Interventional Society). He is a partner at Lake Smit & Partners in Durban, holds a European Board of Interventional Radiology Diploma, and is an honorary lecturer at Inkosi Albert Luthuli Central Hospital.
Dr Dale Creamer is Head of Interventional Radiology at Groote Schuur Hospital, a senior lecturer at the University of Cape Town (UCT), and currently practices at UCT Private Academic Hospital. He earned his MBChB from the University of KwaZulu-Natal and completed his MMed in Diagnostic Radiology at Stellenbosch University. In 2021, he was awarded the FC Rad Diag, and in 2022 a Fellowship in Interventional Radiology from the University of Calgary, where he developed a special interest in women's health. He is committed to establishing a sub-specialist training programme in Interventional Radiology in South Africa.
